Poluma Group To Acquire Worley Field Services Business In The UK

Poluma Group, parent company of Allied Protek, has reached an agreement with global professional services company Worley to acquire its Worley Field Services (WFS) business in Grimsby, UK.

The transaction is subject to regulatory approval and customary closure conditions. The sale is expected to close on 27 June 2025.

WFS is a fabrication, construction, operations, maintenance and turnaround business that has been supporting projects across the UK and Europe for 60 years. It employs 250 people.

The Poluma Group is a leading employer of skilled labour in Grimsby, with four centres in the UK, working on projects internationally. The core of the business is supporting blue chip clients within food, manufacturing, munitions, personal care and chemical sectors. The acquisition of WFS will generate a group turnover of £70m, with a combined workforce of around 500, which will help support clients of WFS and the Poluma Group’s other companies.

Paul Wilson, Chairman of the Poluma Group said of the announcement:

“We are excited about the acquisition. This aligns with our long-term vision to support the footprint and growth of our engineering capability throughout the UK. WFS is a highly respected company on a global and local level with so much history within the region.

“WFS will be rebranded as Allied Protek Field Services. The rebranded company will remain as a separate legal and operational entity within the Poluma Group. We believe that all entities will benefit from this acquisition.

“We look forward to continuing to work cooperatively with Worley and to support our people and customers, during the transition to new ownership.”

This transition marks an important milestone and opportunity for WFS.

Commenting on today’s announcement, Worley Chief Executive Officer, Chris Ashton said:

“We appreciate the value that the team at Field Services has contributed over the years and have no doubt that they will continue to succeed.”

The newly formed Poluma Group is the parent company of Allied Protek Engineering Solutions, Humber Recruitment, Turbo Systems Engineering, Rhoades Power and Control and Allied Protek Field Services.
