Cost Engineer
Grimsby or Runcorn
We are looking to add a Cost Engineer to our fantastic team. This is a full-time, permanent contract, working Monday to Friday from our Grimsby or Runcorn office.
Principle Responsibilities of the Cost Engineer
Working with Project Managers, Project Engineers and the Finance department to collate and report project Cost data and provide analysis of major cost drivers and/or concerns.
- Collate all project cost data from the various associated departments within the business and relevant supply chain contracts.
- To develop an accurate, concise and timely report summarising all invoiced and committed project costs to date.
- Work with the Project Manager to establish a realistic and accurate final outturn cost and report periodically
- Analyse new costs and charges to ensure the costs are allocated correctly and realistic for the work carried out.
- Working with department heads, validate quotes for work to ensure the estimated hours are correct as well as the declared rates for the external resource.
- Challenge any costs that should not be charged to the project or seem unrealistic for the work undertaken.
- Review internal spending to ensure that the personnel utilised reflect the role codes assumed in the estimate.
- Ability to identify non-funded costs/commitments and to highlight excessive charges.
- Identify variances to estimate and establish appropriate corrective actions with the PM
- Undertake end-of-project cost review to the establish accuracy of the original estimate and to work jointly with the estimating team to establish verified norms for common activities.
The Individual
- Will have at least 10 years’ experience of working in a multi-discipline multi-project planning/cost control environment.
- Good working knowledge of cost reporting practices.
- Proficient in the use of Excel, database software packages and Client software where appropriate.
- Competent in the use of cost analysis techniques.
- Experience in evaluating cost performance status and identifying the key cost drivers in a project.

Chartered Structural Engineer
Grimsby or Runcorn
We are seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in designing, analysing, and ensuring the structural integrity of various projects. If you have a passion for engineering and are looking for an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative projects, we want to hear from you.
The successful candidate can be based at our Grimsby or Runcorn site.
Responsibilities
– Utilise software such as Revit, CAD, and MicroStation to design and analyse structural systems
– Manage projects from conception through to completion, ensuring they meet quality standards and deadlines
– Collaborate with architects and construction teams to develop efficient structural solutions
– Conduct system design and analysis for a variety of structures including buildings, bridges, and industrial facilities
– Use AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Mathcad for structural calculations and drawings
– Ensure compliance with relevant codes and regulations in all designs
Requirements
– Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
– Proven experience in structural engineering
– Proficiency in Revit, CAD, MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Mathcad
– Strong project management skills
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
– Excellent problem-solving abilities
– Knowledge of building materials and construction methods

Fabricators, Welders & Sheet Metal Workers
Runcorn
Role Description
This is a full-time workshop and on-site role for Fabricators, Welders and Sheet Metal Workers based out of our Runcorn facility on projects across the North West for existing clients in Wrexham/Wirral/Manchester.
The role involves day-to-day tasks such as interpreting engineering drawings, manufacturing and installation of fabrications/pipework/ductwork/sheet metalwork, ensuring quality and safety standards are maintained plus collaborating with the engineering team to meet installation requirements.
Qualifications
- Experience in stainless steel fabrication and welding
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings
- Knowledge of quality and safety standards required for hygienic installations
- Collaborative teamwork skills
- Strong attention to detail and precision
