WorldSkills Finals Approach For Allied Protek Apprentices
Yet again, we are thrilled to announce that three of our apprentices, Tom Favell, William Lince and Chris Swales, have reached the finals of the WorldSkills UK competition, taking skills honed in Grimsby to a national stage.
Our brilliant bunch have been recognised in the following categories:
- Construction MetalWork – Tom Favell
- Sheet MetalWork Technology – William Lince
- Welding – Chris Swales
The talented trio completed WorldSkills regional competitions at the Grimsby Institute (one of England’s largest providers of technical and professional training) earlier in July. After months of careful training, they have been recognised for their expertise and are now ready to show the nation their capabilities.
After a year without competitions due to the pandemic, over 3,000 people registered to take part in the UK-wide competitions back in March 2021. The finalists will compete for gold, silver and bronze from 9-19 November at venues across the UK, with the winners crowned at a ceremony hosted by TV presenter Steph McGovern from her Packed Lunch studio on Friday 26 November.
We are proud to be able to support Tom, Will and Chris and hope you can join us in wishing them the best of luck in November! We would also like to recognise Olly Wright, Joe Hylton and Lewis Normanton, who have done a fantastic job at the regionals.
Regular updates on our finalists’ WorldSkills journey will be posted on Allied Protek LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts.
