Throughout November, several Allied Protek staff members have been participating in Movember, raising pivotal funds in support of Men’s health.
Compliance Manager of Allied Protek, Lucy Wilson was part of the team raising funds and spoke of her journey throughout the month. “Well obviously, since I can’t grow a moustache I wanted to get involved in another way.
“I went with Movember’s Move for Mental Health, which is to run or walk 60km over the month to remember and represent the 60 men who take their own lives every hour of every day globally. I’m so proud of Mark Neul for bringing the idea to us, our team for raising over our targeted £2,000 and would like to thank everybody who donated throughout our journey!”.
What is Movember?
Movember has created a movement of over 5 million supporters across the world, funding more than 1,200 innovative men’s health projects across more than 20 countries. Movember was established in 2003 by a few friends over a beer in a pub just outside Melbourne, Australia. During Movember, men primarily grow a moustache for the month, getting friends, family and colleagues to donate to their effort. Men and women also choose to Move or Host a Mo-ment. They want men to take action to live happier, healthier, longer lives and do this by investing in these critical areas: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.

Join us in congratulating all those who took part, as collectively they raised a total of £2,022! We would also like to thank everybody who donated to their cause. We’re all incredibly proud of the efforts you have made!
